The “Come See Your Army” tour at Fort Jackson is a community event that gives the public a chance to experience how soldiers train and see the day-to-day operations at the base.

This event gives local citizens a chance to see how trainees forge the Night Infiltration Course (NIC) to become American soldiers. While low crawling through obstacles that include flares, explosions, and a hail of gunfire overhead, many soldiers have said the NIC is one of the most memorable events of basic training.

The tour includes:

• A briefing on the base’s mission and training at the Night Infiltration Course (NIC)
• A chance to speak with drill sergeants
• A tour of the NIC to watch soldiers train under live machine gun fire
• A chance to speak with soldiers about their training

For all interested in participation in the tour, one must:

• Register and receive an invitation
• Bring a valid ID and a copy of their invitation
• Wear long pants and close-toe, comfortable shoes
