Humongous Fungus Read Aloud & Mushroom Hunt

Join us Mondays in November for learning and fun with science-based activities!  Not quite animals and not quite plants, the mysterious kingdom of fungi is full of secrets.  Let’s unearth a few of these secrets together by reading from Humongous Fungus (written by Lynne Boddy and illustrated by Wenjia Tang) and then embarking on a guided mushroom hunt.  This 30-45 minute STEAM-in-Nature activity will explore the weird and wonderful world of fungi, and how they can be found in every ecosystem.  Led by experienced foragers and facilitators, this activity is designed for 1st through 5th grade students and begins at 11:30 a.m.  Guardians should remain on-site and supervise their child during play and picnic times (12:15 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.).  Don’t miss out on this enriching and exciting activity.
